THE BELL TOWER
On this stand is the scale reconstruction of the bell tower and belfry of the church of Nostra Signora della Mercede.
The neo-Gothic style bell tower is the oldest part of the church, its construction dates back to 1908. On the four corners, at the top, under the mullioned windows, there are the representative figures of the four evangelists: the angel for Matthew, the lion for Mark, the ox for Luke and the eagle for John.
Inside the bell tower is the belfry with seven bells, these were installed at various times in the history of the parish (history and details inside).
On the façade is the stained glass window with the effigy of the Madonna della Mercede and further down the marble plaque bearing the date of the church's construction as a parish in 1938.
